Chemical industries are basic building blocks and critical inputs to the global economy, adding value to natural resources, transforming them into the materials needed by all the downstream industries and end products that we use in our daily life, including automotive, electrical and electronics, consumer goods to name a few. The industry is being disrupted by a range of external factors and mega trends including sustainability, new business models, supply chain constraints and reshoring, digitization, among others, all of which leading to ever changing needs of chemicals and materials that will shape the future of the end products that we consume in the future. The Chemicals and Materials Advisory practice partners with these companies to ideate, evaluate and enable decision making to shape the future portfolio of companies.

Overview

Central driver of Customer Engagement and a leader in Chemicals and Materials. Build relationships with clients but assume an added responsibility for developing new clients at Senior/ Board level as well as being a driving force in the development of Intellectual Capital.  A true Frost&Sullivan Ambassador in the market.  Responsible for the overall performance (targets, timeliness, quality and team management for the practice area).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and evolve the strategic plan for the Middle East & India Chemicals & Materials practice.
  • Working closely with the Regional Commercial Leadership and Global Advisory Leaders, to ensure there is a globally consistent vision.
  • Take ownership of, and manage, the overall business performance.
  • Working with the Commercial and Advisory teams to ensure that the proposition is taken to market effectively; this will include sales planning, marketing strategy, development and go-to-market of new solutions and thought leadership development.
  • Maintain a high level of customer interaction, developing your own personal business.
  • Provide client organisations with industry specific, business advisory expertise, whilst sharing knowledge and best practice across the Frost & Sullivan business.
  • Attending customer conferences and workshops and develop a reputation for being an industry thought leader.
  • Work with the leadership team in developing solutions for our regional clients.

 People Management and Leadership

  • Motivate, drive, and inspire the team to achieve consistent revenue delivery and project fulfilment in-line with annual business objectives.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and direct leadership to the respective teams.
  • Undertake performance reviews and annual appraisals.
  • Establish individual consulting team targets and KPIs, in line with achieving Frost & Sullivan’s business/revenue objectives.
  • Maintaining and developing operational processes to maximize the efficiency of the team and ensuring client value.

 New Business Development and Account Management

  • Develop sales vision and strategy in collaboration with the Commercial leadership and the global and regional leadership.
  • Take charge of business pipeline generation for Chemicals & Materials in the region
  • Meet weekly with the sales/commercial leadership to review sales pipeline and performance against the annual plan.
  • Develop new initiatives and work with the sales and product management on the go to market strategy.
  • Support sales/commercial team in a very hands-on manner, especially leveraging experience in deal closures, as a thought leader and senior consultant to take early-stage opportunities to close.
  • Build strong personal relationships in key accounts and deliver on business goals as mandated for the year.
  • Develop marketing strategy in collaboration with the sales leadership and marketing team.

 

Qualifications

We’re looking for candidates who -

Will be a professional and committed business consultant, with a thorough understanding of consulting methodologies. Proven success with direct client interaction, business development, consulting project fulfilment and a pro-active, methodical and innovative working practice is essential, with a proven ability to deliver accurate results within a fast paced, client focused environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required. Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Engineering or Science is preferred; business, engineering, considered.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Professional work experience in Chemicals, Chemistry, Science, Materials, or related fields is required.
  • Strong expertise and understanding of the Chemicals, Plastics, Materials, Specialty Chemicals industries with a consulting bent of mind is required in the geography in which client projects are / will be delivered.
  • Ability to think creatively and create out of the box solutions.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead projects and teams.
  • Demonstrated capability to facilitate effective, cross functional client meetings.
  • Demonstrated capability to establish credible relationships with mid-level client managers.
  • Education, training or certification in strategy, project management, performance improvement, and change management is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to create professional and impactful presentations /documents as client deliverables.
  • High level of energy, commitment, and passion for Mega Trends like Sustainability, Decarbonization, Localization, Liquid to Chemicals, Reshoring etc.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal) is required.
  • Open to travel to both domestic and internal sites for work.
  • Are Well-organized and detail oriented.
  • Can multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
  • Are disciplined and adhere to high-quality standards.
  • Is a strategic thinker; understands how operational activities are vital in supporting the overall strategy of the business.
